Much ado about nothing

I never even thought this would make a post, but here it is before I change my mind.

Just now I was going through Cricinfo's Quote, Unquote section, the latest being this one:

"I've played well for the last five to six months."
Sourav Ganguly wonders what all the fuss is about.

The irony of the statement startled me so much that I started laughing uncontrollably.

But that is not even the point.

The point is that, for sometime now, whether it is about something I read online or some incident in my day-to-day life, if it affects me at some level, I immediately want to write a post about it. I would grab the nearest computer and login to blogger.com faster than light. I would even give the post a great title (you know how I feel with titles!), but the post's lifetime would only last 1-2 minutes.

Most often than not, I would start feeling embarrassed and silly that I actually attempted to write a post about that topic. VERY RARELY, some of those posts would go to "The Draft trimester", but that poor old post knows its fate would last only until the next login.

Well, it's time for a change then.

My assumption that a post needs to be atleast at a certain level of complexity is broken to pieces, since I am actually publishing this post. Look! I even found a matching picture for it!

Have a nice weekend!

  • well - guess you have graduated...
want to know more about your reaction to ganguly's delusions on his performance....

  • LOL on Ganguly's comment and the reporter's remarks under the comment.. Prem Panicker wrote a post on Friday about this remark, saying that, such one liners from 'hot' newsmakers like Ganguly would be twisted and interpreted in several versions, to make selling stories. And, how about the remark by Nitesh Kumar - "Invest in Bihar.. Bihar is the ultimate land of opportunities" I would add three dots to his quote and say "to die".

About the philosophy of blogging, I would strongly recommend you giving life to the 'drafts', go ahead and post them. After all, it is ur blog and no matter how 'silly' you feel the posts are, the fact that you wanted to write about it should be sufficient enough for the post to be qualified for publication. If you see some of my posts, though they are controversial, I have posted them (and receieved flak for some of my points..). I think that is the whole point of blogging.. Freedom to express..

This is the continuation of our discussion when we met.. I wanted to tell you that 'there is no rule/expectation that you are supposed to write about certain set of things". Write anything you wish.. I would love to see more of your posts.

I do write down certain issues, to blog about.. after a while, I don't find them interesting to blog.

Even then, the Ganguly statement was hilarious.. let us watch his performance during the current series.. with Pak.

Ur scorecard looks depressing.. Hope we dont get anything remotely close when the professionals play later this week.. So, the order in world cricket, as u have seen is Pak >India > WI..?

scorecard - they were a better team by orders of magnitude. The worst thing is not that we lost, but how effortlessly they won..

  • I've not been following cricket that well these days, but I'm sure the following stmt

'Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi declared that he wished to compare his state with Germany, Japan and China, and not with Indian states, "which were way behind".'

    can compete with Ganguly's!!

  • Hey,

    Landed here from Maverick's blog.

I have drafted a few blogs myself, and some time later I find myself thinking "Should I really be posting that after all??"

Way to go! Keep up with the change!

And regards Ganguly, gosh the man should stop trying to attract attention with such comments. They only make him look more foolish!

By Blogger PH, at January 13, 2006 6:40 AM

  • Ph: welcome!.

Yea, just post it. after all, its your blog!

    Controversy is Ganguly's middle name..
