Curious George

I had no idea: Alan Shalleck (one of the creators of the Curious George cartoon series) was killed in a homicide attack. His attacker was sentenced today.

I know I am all grown up and everything, but when we were in Seattle, I used to watch Curious George in the mornings before I left for work. We also got a Curious George DVD for one of our young nephews.

Just two days ago, one of my colleagues (who is known for wearing all these funny t-shirts) wore a Curious George tee, with George lying on the floor with an open bottle of Ether which he had apparently sniffed!

Quick one

Whatever differences this man had with a given community specifically, or a religion as a whole, you still have to give it to him fully when it comes to the art of politics, oratory, persuassion of following (sometimes blindly) ideologies, etc.

Sample:

"It is claimed that Hindi should be common language because it is spoken by the majority. Why should we then claim the tiger as our national animal instead of the rat which is so much more numerous? Or the peacock as our national bird when the crow is ubiquitous?"

(copied and pasted from Wikipedia, spoken by Annadurai at the Indian Parliament during 1962).

The man passed away in 1969 while still serving as CM of Tamil Nadu and 1,500,000 turned up for his funeral procession.
