Shots in the dark

Another dream, ladies and gentlemen.

A young boy is walking on a street. Now this street is not any ordinary street. It is on the war path (literally) between two nations/cities/whatever. Gun fire could be heard all around. I don't know what day or age this took (!) place, but the boy looks at the sky and he could see a steady stream of bullets flying (just like a flock of birds, just that it is even more longer but narrower). I know. Bullets travel much faster for us humans to capture its motion. But it could be that the boy has some super visual powers. I digress. Because I had to.

So, he watches the flying bullets in amazement. Apparently, some of the empty shells of the bullets fall to the gound and he looks for them, blows the smoke from it, juggles it around for a while until he can handle the heat. He has a small toy gun in his pocket which shoots with a pop sound. He puts the shell in the gun and tries to mimic a real shooting. It fires! But only produces sound and no flying objects.

But just because it produced a firing sound, and just because it was localized on the street, a policeman picks him up and places him under arrest. The boy protests - "but what about all those flying bullets in the sky? Why is no one arresting them?". The policeman says: "Well, I cannot. I caught you since I can"

My alarm rang then.

It is interesting to analyze what previous events (real ones) took place which culminate into a dream.

PS: I wish I could have edited the post better, but then it won't be fair on the dream!

Motivation

A good proportion of non-immigrant workers are motivated to work solely for not getting laid off or fired. Another set of people work because they are stuck at that place, time and mind frame, which serves to be their "motivation". A small set of go-lucky people actually enjoy what they do and are motivated by the anticipation of impending sense of achievement and satisfaction.

A person I knew got himself motivated to come to work today because of a nightmare.

He dreamt that he was cooking for a bunch of women, who he has never met, had no idea where they came from. He was preparing some kind of dish (name not given/remembered) and was being constantly and roundly criticized by the women. So, each time, he goes back to the kitchen and starts over again or tries to repair the dish, but keeps messing it up again and again. Finally, he wakes up panting and almost screaming and decided to come to work, just to avoid such terrible nightmares. This guy swears by the microwave, would write his will to restaurants and maintains an otherwise clean counter top, since he never cooks in reality.

Partly due to the fact that this guy is a citizen makes me wonder about the varying ranges of motivation. I don't seem to get these kinds of motivating factors. I can handle a bunch of women berating me over potato curry any day!

Intelligent dreams - 2

Now this is getting way too weird. What is it about me dreaming about cars?

Get this: In the dream, I am in a car with 2 steering wheels - one in the front, one in the back, diagonally opposite to each other. Someone takes one look at it and says:

"Do I even have to ask?".

I go - "What? I need to come back from wherever I go, right?"

I don't know what is happening in that head of mine.

Shameless self-promotion: Intelligent dreams -1.

Intelligent dreams

"Do you have any dried tamarind flowers?"

"Why?"

"Sprinkle them on your car's engine - that would help in getting better mileage"

"What?! That doesn't even make sense!"

"You can get dried tamarind flowers from the local Rajasthani store"

"WHAT!"

At this point I realized that I was shouting WHAT in my bed, clearly disturbed by the dream. What did I do to deserve such pearls of wisdom? Kekule solved the benzene ring problem in his dream and I get this? Not fair at all!

Maybe I should try the flowers and if it works, watch out!

Have a nice weekend!
